War News Updates: The Future Of The British Army?

The British Army will have to rely on civilian drivers, reserves and foreign armies to fight wars in the future as the MoD plans a swathe of cuts to support solders, it can be disclosed.

In the most significant reforms the Army in half-a-century The Daily Telegraph has learnt that as few as five infantry battalions totalling 2,500 soldiers will be cut but a further 17,500 jobs will go mainly from logistics troops, engineers and artillery.

Military commanders have condemned the move as creating an unbalanced Army that will be reliant on a Tesco s just in time supply tactic for campaigns.

The reforms have been forced on the Army after it was forced to reduce from 102,000 to 82,000 under defence cuts.

Millibean suggests giving us a vote on EU membership

Ed Miliband set for decision on Europe referendum | Politics | The Observer Could be jolly interesting. Although I don't trust his motives. He's such a schoolboy that saying crazy things is his only way of getting noticed or taken half-way seriously. Weren't we promised this before? Originally Posted by jarrod248 Weren't we promised this before? No we were promised a vote on the EU Constitution, which was subsequently renamed the Lisbon Treaty in order to sidestep the inconvenience of letting the public have a say. This is a proposal for an in/out referendum, which we've not had since 1975. The EU today is a very different beast from the old ECC or whatever it was called. He can promise to give everyone in the land free money and a bottle of elixir of youth whilst he is in opposition. Watch it all vanish like the morning mist or the wording change to the extent that it becomes meaningless if he ever becomes PM. I take what any politician says with a large pinch of salt. All parties promise what the electorate want to hear in the hope of being elected only to do a complete u-turn afterwards. yep - tories saying they might put it in their 2015 manifesto and ed ball saying no reason why we couldnt have a vote in the next 10 years. despite current polls putting 60% of the polled public wanting out of the eu just like most of the rest of the eu countries because we think its shit. but of course that wouldnt be in the public interest would it - voting for the ending of a non democratic policy union. If anyone truly believes what a politician tells them could you PM me. I have some really great deals on real estate in Florida you will be interested in. Humiliated as a child by parents

We all know parents would tell s Quirky lies to there children just because they can. E.G watching too muct tv will make your eyes go square. Let's see who has the funniest strory. They kid N****** in Darton. My parents led me to believe that driving in the fast lane on the motorway actually makes your car go faster. Eating your crusts makes your hair grow curly. Fish is brain food but no explanation why Stephen Griffin in my class at school ate fish but couldn't write his own name. Chelsea vs bayern Munich

Who would you put your 50pence on? Chelsea. They've played shite, anti-football defensive crap for forty five minutes and I hate them. Therefore it's nailed on that the fucking ladyboy Spanish cunt Torres is going to get a last minute winner for the horrible Cockney cunts. Yep I'm with you there. I'm staying hopefully of a bayern hotspur win tho. bayern.........YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Chelsea.................fuccccccccccccccccckkkkkkk kkk Read the rest of this entry »

Armoured vehicle tools

I've been chatting to a chum about the tools we had on tanks and bet my virginity on the result of this question On the Chieftain it was still imperial measurements and we had two 7/16x/1/2 spanners which used to go missing at quite alarming regularity When Challenger was introduced the smallest tool was 10x11mm I think. This chap doesn't think that a this could be the case as the difference between 10 and 11 mm is so small can you confirm to preserve my innocence? I'm sure you're right. 10/11mm might be close, but are both common metric sizes. Aren't spanners always like that? 8/9mm, 10/11mm, 12/13mm etc? I'm sure they all are in a Signals Tech toolkit too. Open Ended Spanners Like these ones! You are right BUT there is a 3/4 mm spanner.
